Practice Areas

Our major practice areas include UAS/Drone Law, General Litigation, Corporate Counsel, and Veteran/Military Law.  Click on each link for details.

Drone Law

This is where it all started. Are you looking to determine whether you can fly in a certain airspace? Are you worried about liability for operating your own UAS or hiring someone? Perhaps you’ve been injured by an irresponsible UAS user. Are you looking to contract in relation to UAS?

Both Dave and Kristen can assist you. Dave is a pioneer attorney in UAS law and teaches one of the first Drone Law classes in the country at a law school outside of D.C. He has spoken at numerous events and can ensure you are well-prepared and protected when it comes to UAS.

Small Business (Corporate) Law

We provide expert, predictably priced legal advice for businesses of all sizes. Whether you are a federal contractor in the DMV, a tech start-up or launching a winery or farm brewery – we have you covered.

We understand that small businesses cannot afford the high hourly rates and unpredictability of the traditional hourly rate. We are upfront in our pricing but you will feel like you have your own General Counsel when your retain us.

We assist in all areas of corporate law, with a focus on:

Contracts negotiation, review, and protection
Intellectual Property
Federal contracting (e.g. present responsibility, contract negotiation, False Claims Act litigation)
Winery/Brewery permitting with TTB/ABC

Veteran & Military Law

Admitted to practice in Military Courts and years of experience in military criminal and administrative cases.

We also will represent you before the Veteran’s Administration to assist your Compensation claim – whether initial or appeal.

Are you a reservist who has been discriminated against due to you reserve duties? We might also be able to help you protect your rights under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA).

General Litigation

Bringing you experienced litigation. We aren’t afraid to go to trial, if necessary, but will seek to help you settle your case if that is in your best interests.

Meet the Team

Attorney Dave Lincoln is passionate about representing your legal interests in an efficient and highly competent manner. After fifteen years in the United States Navy, half as a line officer and half as a JAG Attorney advising admirals and trying cases ranging from simple drug cases to sexual assault and complex conspiracy and terrorism cases, he is excited to make that advocacy accessible to you.

Please note:  Attorney Dave Lincoln is on leave from the firm as he is a Navy Reservist on recall to Active Duty.  Attorney Kristen Lincoln can handle your issues, but please feel free to contact either attorney.

Attorney Dave Lincoln is a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve Judge Advocate General’s Corps.  He was an Assistant Trial Counsel representing the United States in the Military Commission United States v. Abd al Hadi al-Iraqi.  In that capacity he led a team in identifying discoverable information from over three million documents relating to the CIA’s former RDI Program and successfully proposed solutions to balance national security and the Accused’s constitutional rights under the Classified Information Procedures Act.

He leverages his engineering background to provide expert advice on technical issues and complex multi-million dollar contract negotiations.

He has years of technical and legal teaching experience—Naval Justice School, Naval Nuclear Power School, George Mason Law School, and as an age group swim coach.

He was previously legal counsel to the Admiral of Submarine Group TWO (in charge of 25 fast attack submarines and 5000 personnel), acted as the presiding officer of Summary Courts-Martial and prosecuted numerous cases.  As such, he understands how to advocate for an Accused to ensure they are fairly and forcefully represented.

He was the founder of the UAS blog, Duke of Drones and helped stand up a UAS practice group at his former law firm, Wiggin and Dana—where he also advised clients on export compliance, intellectual property, False Claims Act, and art law.

Kristen is an attorney has experience representing companies ranging from Fortune 100 companies to start-ups.  She enjoys helping small businesses grow from an idea to a thriving company and will help you with all the legal aspects of this growth.

She was a commercial insurance producer when Dave was stationed in Southeastern Connecticut.  In that role she helped structure optimal business insurance programs for a variety of clients in the public safety, municipal, commercial, and non-profit industries and for bidding in public entity Requests for Proposals.  This is not your typical canned insurance program and required significant customization for the clients.  She conducted quarterly insurance seminars for and spearheaded a partnership with New England Museum Association (“NEMA”) to provide risk

As Vice President of Rugged Races she ushered the company from a single-race host to a nationally recognized race organizer. She was responsible for the planning, management, and execution of all fourteen nationwide events in the Rugged Maniac 5K race series from conception to completion; including scouting of potential race locations and providing quantitative assessments directly to the owner to justify the significant expense involved in entering a new market.  She established media and community relations by conducting interviews with various media outlets, drafting press releases for nation-wide distribution, responding to all media inquiries and escorting media personnel at all events.

She combines this experience with the law to help small businesses with their legal needs.
